Caterham Cars are pleased to announce a new tie in with Lotus Cars to produce the classic Lotus Elise Series One.
"Producing the Elise was the obvious next step after the Lotus 7. We at Caterham Cars intend to stay true to the original philosophy of the Elise, combining a light weight chassis and small capacity engine to provide an exhilarating experience." said John Maund of Caterham Cars.
Caterham Cars are expected to make only minor modifications to the original specification of the Elise.
Initially, the Caterham Elise will be powered by a 1600 or 1800 Zetec, however Duratec and Crossflow variants are planned.
Wooden trim will be optional.
Caterham Cars will make the Elise available with either flared or cycle wings from 1st April, 2015
